The PEM Chair at RWTH Aachen University is developing a digital platform for hydrogen logistics with partners. The goal is to efficiently manage gas station capacities and increase supply security for hydrogen trucks.

Two projects from partners of the trinational hydrogen network 3H2 receive funding from the state program ELY. Electrolysers with a total capacity of 2 MW are to be built in Achern and Kehl. The goal is to establish regional hydrogen hubs.

Stargate Hydrogen has produced hydrogen for the first time in the Kalla project of the energy company Fortum in Finland. This milestone marks an important step in the commissioning of a 1 MW electrolyser with ceramic technology.

The municipality of Bosbüll in North Frisia is expanding its district heating network. In the future, process heat from local hydrogen production will also be fed into the system. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2025.

The Swiss company Infener wants to promote hydrogen throughout Europe. Decentralized H₂ hubs will be used to generate green electricity as well as green heat. The Ecore One is a compact containerized solution that combines various energy technologies in one unit: electrolyzer, fuel cell and battery as well as compressor and a heat pump with its own energy management system or EMS. H₂ production is due to start 2027 at a site in the Black Forest, Germany. However, the needs of regional industry are already far greater today.

Methanol Reformer delivers a system to Japan for the first time. The L18 reformer is set to produce hydrogen from methanol at Mitsubishi Gas Chemical's Niigata site starting in 2026. The project also serves to validate the technology according to Japanese standards.

Hylane has brought the first hydrogen truck equipped with a Bosch fuel cell module into Germany’s road freight transport sector. The 40-ton truck from Iveco is operated by logistics company Schäflein for the Bosch plant in Nuremberg – as part of a rental model.

Gascade has converted around 400 kilometres of existing natural gas pipelines to hydrogen. The new north-south axis is part of the project "Flow – making hydrogen happen" and forms a central section of Germany's hydrogen core network.

In Hamburg-Moorburg, the construction of a 100 MW electrolyser has begun. The Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub project is expected to deliver around 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually from 2027. The operators are Luxcara and Hamburger Energiewerke.
