The European Commission has presented its revision of the Emissions Trading System and the Electrification Action Plan. According to the industry association Hydrogen Europe, both initiatives are of great importance for the hydrogen economy. A €100 billion bank for industrial decarbonisation is also planned.

AquaDuctus Pipeline GmbH is starting the geotechnical investigations for the planned offshore hydrogen pipeline in the North Sea. According to the company, the work in front of Norderney and Hilgenriedersiel will begin at the earliest on July 20, 2026, providing data for route planning and construction methods.

The pharmaceutical company Teva has put its first hydrogen truck into operation. The vehicle, an Iveco S-eWay Fuel Cell, comes from Hylane's rental fleet and is intended to transport medicines around Ulm as well as on long-distance routes in southern Germany.

Witt Gas Controls has developed a check valve specifically for PEM fuel cells in industrial trucks. The Ultra 22 opens at around 4 mbar and is intended to increase the efficiency of the fuel cell systems of a North American manufacturer.

French green hydrogen producer Lhyfe has expanded its European transport fleet to 84 Type IV tube trailers. With ten newly delivered Hexagon Purus containers, the company aims to strengthen its bulk hydrogen supply chain, which surpassed more than 1,000 deliveries in 2025.

According to Fraunhofer ISE, Ireland can become a significant player in the hydrogen economy. In the HYreland project, researchers analyzed potentials and costs. For export to Germany, pipeline transport to Stade or Rotterdam would be the most cost-effective.
