Rheinmetall plans a Europe-wide network of modular e-fuel plants for the decentralised supply of armed forces with synthetic fuels. Partners such as Sunfire, Greenlyte, and Ineratec provide key technologies for the "Giga PtX" project.

Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies has commissioned the Griesemann Group with the planning and construction of what it claims to be the world's largest plant for releasing hydrogen from Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC). The plant is expected to provide up to five tonnes of green hydrogen per day in Vohburg from 2028.

This is the unanimous demand of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) and the AquaVentus Förderverein, whose goal is to produce green hydrogen directly at sea using offshore wind energy and transport it to shore via pipeline. Transport via pipelines is described as a cost-effective, fast and environmentally friendly solution.

Stargate Hydrogen and OX2 are joining forces to deliver one of Northern Europe’s largest hydrogen projects in Åland, Finland. The centrepiece will be a newly developed 10 MW electrolyser system based on ceramic technology.

The Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub, abbreviated as HGHH, has commissioned Kraftanlagen Energies & Services with the construction of the technical infrastructure for a 100 MW electrolysis plant. Commissioning is planned for the second half of 2027.

The municipality of Bosbüll in North Frisia is expanding its district heating network. In the future, process heat from local hydrogen production will also be fed into the system. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2025.

The Swiss company Infener wants to promote hydrogen throughout Europe. Decentralized H₂ hubs will be used to generate green electricity as well as green heat. The Ecore One is a compact containerized solution that combines various energy technologies in one unit: electrolyzer, fuel cell and battery as well as compressor and a heat pump with its own energy management system or EMS. H₂ production is due to start 2027 at a site in the Black Forest, Germany. However, the needs of regional industry are already far greater today.

Hylane has brought the first hydrogen truck equipped with a Bosch fuel cell module into Germany’s road freight transport sector. The 40-ton truck from Iveco is operated by logistics company Schäflein for the Bosch plant in Nuremberg – as part of a rental model.

Thyssenkrupp Uhde has implemented a hydrogen recovery unit for ammonia producer Fertiglobe in the United Arab Emirates. The unit increases production by up to 6 percent while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions.
