In 2024, the HYDROGEN WEEK will take place nationwide from June 15th to 23rd, 2024. Under the patronage of Andreas Rimkus, MdB and hydrogen representative of the SPD parliamentary group, companies, universities, networks, initiatives, districts and cities will once again be inviting companies, universities, networks, initiatives, districts and cities as part of the “WEEK OF THE HYDROGEN” (#WDW) nationwide for a variety of events related to the energy source.

In 2024, the focus will be on training and skilled workers. Hydrogen (H2) is an essential component of the energy transition. Only with it can green energy be stored and transported in sufficient quantities, industry and chemicals can be decarbonized and the transport transition in the transport sector, on the rails and in the air, can be achieved. With the update of the National Hydrogen Strategy, the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy is gaining momentum. New companies and joint projects are emerging in Germany and neighboring countries. In the interests of security of supply and independence from gas imports, the transformation of the gas industry is imminent, and universities, colleges and trade schools are expanding their training offerings around hydrogen technologies. As a colorful information event over nine days, the WEEK OF HYDROGEN (#WDW) offers free insights into the H2 market ramp-up.

The #WDW is primarily aimed at the general public. Those interested meet researchers and decision-makers from politics and business. Exhibitions, lectures, expert discussions, factory and laboratory tours, and community festivals invite social discourse. The offer is supplemented by explanatory #WDW films. Understanding and broad social acceptance are a prerequisite for the successful establishment of hydrogen as an energy source. The #WDW team is pleased to receive initial commitments from #WDW supporters.
