At first glance, the figures from some of the North American fuel cell companies by the end of March 2015 have proved to be disappointing. The reason that Ballard Power, Hydrogenics and Plug Power have come up with figures which failed to correspond to expectations are the high quarterly variations in relation to the accounting of orders which are complete as well as ones which are still being processed and settled. On 12th June 2015, the 20th meeting of the members of the German Association for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells [Deutscher Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellen-Verband e.V.] (DWV) took place in Hamburg. This year there were no elections to the executive board. It’s a moment many have been long been waiting for: at the Hanover trade show, the companies of the Fuel Cells Initiative [Initiative Brennstoffzelle IBZ] presented many of the fuel cell heating devices which are currently available on the market. After the home energy providers showed off their products and services at the ISH in Frankfurt am Main in mid March 2015 with their own stands – an event which claims to be the biggest exhibition for energy-efficient heating and air conditioning technology in the world, in Hanover they shared a single shared booth. Hanover is still the leading sector meeting place for the H2 and FC community. As in previous years, from 13th until 17th April 2015, almost 150 exhibitors presented themselves on the Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells + Batteries in hall 27. Apart from that, however, relatively little was on offer for interested visitors that was worthwhile. The topic of electrical mobility wasn’t as present as it was in previous years. eZelleron has won its case against Kraftwerk musician Ralf Hütter. On 16th April 2015, Dr. Sascha Kühn, Managing Director of the Dresden-based fuel cell manufacturer had to appear at Hamburg district court because the leader of the German electro-pop-band Kraftwerk had claimed ownership of the name rights for the “Kraftwerk” and had submitted injunctions in the USA and Germany.
