Klaus Bonhoff has managed the activities of the National Organization Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW) since its founding in 2008, making him the face of the German H2 and fuel cell industry. There’s movement in the heating segment: Besides new entries trying to find their place on the market, efforts are well underway to ramp up the installation numbers of fuel cell heating systems in 2017. At present, however, the Technology Rollout Program (TEP) is still waiting for Brussels’ approval. To be prepared for the day the program comes into force, the Fuel Cell Initiative (IBZ) has reshuffled personnel and responsibilities. (more…)
The German CHP Act (KWKG) has been a long-time source of subsidies for stationary units producing heat and power as efficiently as possible. Once every few years, these types of laws are revised and naturally, the revisions spark heated debates months before any political decision is made. Just in the nick of time – shortly before the end of last year – the Bundesrat finally approved the CHP Act 2016, so that it could go into effect on January 1. (more…)
